New Spray Head
Based on feedback from healthcare professionals over more than 2 years, the Hydrozid’s new spray head allows improved control of the cryogen applied to a lesion. The ergonomic design makes Hydrozid easier to use and more comfortable in the hand, especially during intensive use.
The spray head’s design and tube’s material allow the cryogen to flow from the canister to the tip without the formation of unnecessary wasteful condensation during treatment.
The narrow aperture of the tip makes it easier to target the tissue to be treated so mitigating the risk of damaging the surrounding healthy skin. The tip has a conical inner shape that also prevents condensation and dripping during treatment.
Hydrozid contains 200 ml of the liquefied gas norflurane. Norflurane is non-flammable and is used as propellant in many asthma inhalers.
Hydrozid is a user-friendly cryotherapy for actinic keratosis, condyloma and other skin lesions and enables ‘service extension’ through use outside main clinics in satellite and primary care settings.
Hydrozid is compact and may be transported by road without the use of specialised equipment.
Hydrozid canisters contain 200 ml of liquefied norflurane, a non-flammable gas used as propellant in many asthma inhalers. Routine storage is be between 0 and 50°C.
Hydrozid combines the effectiveness of traditional cryotherapy with a modern aerosol technique – norflurane quickly and effectively freezes the lesion.
Hydrozid is powerful and robust containing liquefied gas with a melting point of –103.3°C.
Hydrozid has been tried and tested by healthcare professionals.
Hydrozid is also a proven and effective replacement for liquid nitrogen.
Hydrozid is applied directly to the lesion at a distance of 2 – 3 cm for 2 – 6 seconds (see treatment times). Using gentle pressure the spray head gives a fine, narrow jet. Press more firmly for a more powerful jet.
Each aerosol canister comes with its own application templates, these have a range of six apertures for precise application – protecting the surrounding healthy tissue from damage allowing you to treat almost every size of skin lesion. Using application templates, you can treat almost all sizes of skin lesion without causing damage to the surrounding healthy tissues.
Each template has six holes of different diameters; 3, 4, 5, 6, 8 and 10mm, respectively. The Hydrozid application templates are for single use and can be discarded as household waste after use. Due to the risk of infection, each application template should be used for one skin lesion only. The application template should be used only during treatment with Hydrozid.
Hydrozid comes with a unique patent-pending, spray head control system. The spray head is fixed to the canister and allows improved control over the intensity of the spray applied to the lesion. Using gentle pressure the spray head gives a fine, narrow jet. Press more firmly for a more powerful jet.
To avoid damaging surrounding tissues use one of the application templates provided.
